What these guys don't seem to know is that Alan Ritchson is literally bipolar. No doubt he takes his meds regularly, but there's a limit to how much passion those prescriptions can squelch.

Turns out that the great ratings for "Lanterns" were bogus propaganda?
Not a cancellation-level ranking, but arguably mediocre instead of hit status. [Spoilers ensuing.]
There's still the puzzle of what Hal Jordan did in 2016 to deserve 10 years in the pen (along with John Stewart receiving local public wrath, too, albeit minus a prison sentence). Because it was the rogue alien manhunter who wrecked the town with the satellite death ray. It was also the town that knowingly sheltered the manhunter before things went to hell.
Yet Jordan takes the fall for everything. Apparently the showrunners felt that they needed to be punished purely for social justice reasons. Hal for being a privileged white guy and John because 19th-century "racism is still rampant in the system".
The show also portrays Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion) as an all-around azzo, too. And rubs it in that he only got the ring because Stewart rejected it. The sentiment is that none of these characters are likeable. As Kinel says, it's possible that some secret revelation in the last episode might salvage Jordan's persona (elevate him to more of a Jim Rockford pseudo-loser). But a big problem is that he's dead, with only his interactive construct available stored in the old ring that Stewart now wears.

VIDEO INTRO: As Lanterns continues to air with only two episodes left, increasingly a lot of fans are very frustrated with the next James Gunn entry in the DCU. And obviously, the way that Hal Jordan has been depicted has been a big problem for a lot of people. And quite frankly, what they've done to the origin story for John Stewart, a lot of John Stewart fans aren't happy about it.
And despite HBO Max and Warner Brothers and all the DCU shills, become guzzling [__] gobbling shills out there that will do everything to defend James Gunn.
They went out there and they told you that this is just a massive hit, a monumental smashing hit for streaming. Well, reality came crashing down when they were forced to realize that quite frankly. is just not the case. Because it took Lanterns four episodes before it actually charted on the Nielsen ratings. Right, when you look at the first week that it was available, nothing, nowhere, not to be found...
[...] So, that's with three episodes out. Didn't make it. And that would have been 480 million minutes watched. Finally, with four episodes available, it cracked in not to the top 10 of streaming, but to the top 10 of acquired streaming at 500 million minutes watched. That is nothing compared to what we see from HBO Max's actual hit shows. Something like White Lotus, which a lot of people here might not have even watched. That had like 1.6 billion minutes viewed before the season finale.
You know, this is not some smash hit. It's just quite frankly not. The numbers are actually far closer to the Acolyte. When you look at the Acolyte streaming numbers that we talked about years ago, that's around where Lanterns is sitting. Not exactly the smash hit that they were pretending that it was.
And now, you can tell that James Gunn is starting to feel the heat a little bit because he can't help but run his mouth on social media. He feels the desperate need to defend his honor on threads replying to absolute nobodies. James Gunn gets defensive and argues with DC fan over Hal Jordan's treatment in Lanterns.
And it's been a big thing, right? For Hal Jordan, who is the greatest Green Lantern of all time, a lot of people's favorite Green Lantern, certainly, for him to be portrayed the way he's portrayed in this is a problem. And people have compared it to the way Superman has been treated, right? The way that everybody looks at Superman in his own movie. They don't respect him. It is to the next level with Hal Jordan.
He is constantly treated like absolute dog [__] And I do think there's going to be a spin or a twist in episode 7 or 8 that maybe tries to change that a little bit for them, but ultimately it doesn't matter. This is the Luke Skywalker The Last Jedi treatment, where you tear this person down and you embarrass them and you shame them all in effort to prop up another character. We've seen this time and time again...
