VIDEO EXCERPTS: S/he's a man who pretends to be a woman, and s/he is working in science fiction. I don't know how at this point. I haven't heard much about this guy/gal in a lot of years. And s/he wants to get in on this anti-AI grift here.

I don't understand science fiction writers being afraid of AI. Especially, like, I mean, it's science fiction. It's the future.

We want the future. I want an Optimus robot in my house doing my laundry and my dishes and my yard work for me. I mean, my gosh, how cool would that be? I'm waiting for the day of that so that I don't have to clean my house anymore. That's great. And I hope they do have some good rules for that, what Mr. Asimov put together, the laws of robotics.

I'm a science fiction writer myself. And I don't fear the future. I embrace the future. I'm one of those who loves optimism. I love the sense of wonder that we used to get from science fiction.

But this latest crop of DEI writers are very dreary, pessimistic people. [...] They are experiencing angst because they realize AI can write better stories than them for the most part.

[...] What happens when you start believing your own BS? Now, I laughed at this immediately because I'm like, this is a dude who pretends to be a woman, and that makes everybody else call him she. What happens when you start believing your own BS? Pretty funny line in the blog.

[...] These individuals tried to ban me from publishing and the like. You don't know what slings and arrows are, Cameron. ... I think the only people afraid of AI are the people who aren't creative. And that's the situation here. These DEI people who ran science fiction for a long time are not creative. And that's why they tried to box everybody out, right?

They don't want other ideas. They don't want interesting things propagating out there. And the thing is with AI, I can really bounce all my ideas off these things and get 10x my output. I have so many more ideas than ever before because I'm so creatively full. And AI just helps me.

Now, if you're creatively bankrupt, yeah, that would be a scary thing, wouldn't it?

I'd say there is more to this than this particular writer considers.

Stand before an easel with some paints and paint a picture. To some an image might conjure in their head, the potential of what they paint might look like. So they recreate what they saw in their "Minds eye" on canvas.

The problem of course is that people assume that we have imagination. That years of evolution played out to turn our gelatinous goo into intelligence and therefore assume that such "Minds eye" input is a construct of their own.

Perhaps that image that they see isn't there own but actually an AI muze pushing what you might create (perhaps due to causality, perhaps due to some false envisionment by a creator in regards to how it should be applied). Wouldn't that mean that everyone is technically plagiarising when they are trying to be creative?

While it might stand that this concept itself is a construct and likely fiction, it does however affect creativity. After all if you can not create something original because it's been handed to you by an AI muze, you might not bother attempting to create anything at all.

That is where the fear of what AI might become can be considered a problem.
