Yes it is. Reliable just not infallible. Even a mirage or illusion is debunked only by further perception of it. Your car is reliable even though there are circumstances where it may break down.

I'm not sure whether or not I have words (thought words) in dreams .. anyone with an instant answer to that?

The fact that people do talk in my dreams does not mean it is universal. Only you have access to what's manifesting in your own privately generated worlds.

If the dream is ever remembered at all, though, it's probably going to be understood, analyzed, and interpreted with language after waking. Though that doesn't rule out an animal approach of solely having feelings about it or emotionally reacting to the recollection of it via body behavior (or whatever), or memory events of the past being summoned up and associated with it (without an accompanying narrative).

Ah, throw a quote as a thought-terminating cliche.

Using that specific Maurice Merleau-Ponty quote to stop a conversation is highly ironic because the quote itself celebrates constant movement and connection. By refusing to discuss it further, the speaker is doing the exact opposite of what the philosopher intended. They are freezing the idea in place to win an argument.
