Probably wishful thinking rumors. But should a legit reboot happen... The First Doctor was a few centuries old, so there's a lot of youthful backstory that could be explored without ever having to enter the original season of 1963 (for years, anyway). No regeneration possible during that interval, though, so it would require an uncommon British actor willing to stick around for well beyond the usual three seasons or less. (Tom Baker was an anomaly. Hugh Laurie was an anomaly in "House". Andrew Lincoln was an anomaly in the "The Walking Dead", but even he got homesick and quit after season nine.)

So AMC Plus announced this morning that DW has an exclusive new US streaming home, which is interesting. What it's got is a 2005 to 2022 revival run including 13 seasons, 176 episodes. And the specials from the 9th through 13th Doctors only. The deal goes live on June 11th, which fuels speculation that a full reboot may be incoming.
[...] The AMC Plus announced it will be the new exclusive streaming home to just these seasons, right? So that means Christopher Eccleston through Jodie Whitaker. It does not include the classic series, which is kind of odd. It does not include the 60th anniversary specials or David Tenant returning. Those are still on Disney Plus right now.
Disney Plus never ended up releasing the War Between the Land and the Sea in America, did they? They let that go in Britain and it was this spin-off that was supposed to be coming from Russell T. Davies. You guys remember that? It never came out. They kept saying it was going to come out. I think Disney was just like, "Screw it. We're done. We we don't even want this on our platform." Very funny stuff, that they closed the doors that hard on them...
