NASA Headquarters Might Be Leaving Washington DC

It seems that NASA's lease on the building they are currently using in Washington DC will expire in 2028. So right now it's unclear whether NASA will stay in DC or move. Jared says that no decision has been made yet.

If NASA moves, the leading candidate is Florida, which is lobbying hard to have the NASA Headquarters move to Cape Canaveral.

Texas is pushing its own proposal to have NASA Headquarters move to the Johnson Space Center outside Houston.

There are more long-shot proposals from Colorado and Ohio as well. Alabama wants NASA to move to Huntsville AL, the future home of the military's US space Command.
