Antilanguage

I call it antilanguage---language used to obfuscate, distract, downplay, distort, and conceal facts and truths. It is language turned into it's polar opposite, no longer the revelation of being but the covering up of being. And this year so far we are hip deep in it due to the political race. Every politician becomes an expert in forcing words into their service of making them appear concerned, knowledgable, sincere, and decisive. But in so doing they only reveal their own slippery and evasive nature as charlatans and spinners of facts. Ironic is it not that the very people who prove themselves the most capable of twisting the truth to fit their own agenda become the only options for us to choose as our leader? Is that what we wanted? A silver-tongued demagogue who knows how to manipulate us with emotionally-appealing rhetoric? I don't think so. Well, maybe for some.
