After you ask a question it tells you what it’s doing to come up with an answer and when done says “finished thinking”. What? How do I trust a machine that says it thinks? Tempted to ask it that but I guess I need to make it sound like something medical but how when it’s a machine making the claim?

No, "Finished Thinking," isn’t the right term…thus far, and the question is outside the scope of OpenEvidence, but it’s free, and has access to all the paywalled research.

Unfortunately, I’m not one of the 1 in 5000 that pays $200 a month.

Ya, bad choice of words. Didn’t fill me with confidence. You get two free questions. First one I used to ask about a paper cut on a finger. Figured a bandaid would be recommended but got a whole page of advice on what to do. My other question was what to do if I stubbed my toe,,,,again a lengthy list of things. I guess you could say it’s very thorough.

I didn't sign in or anything but I was able to use it for a long period of time. I must have asked it 30 questions, but they were all related to the same original question.

Apparently two questions per week if not signed up. I guess Health Care Professionals have more. Im getting this note…

Quote: You have reached the weekly question limit for unverified users.
OpenEvidence is free for HCPs and allows unlimited question asking when you sign up with your official HCP identification number.

Then it asks me to log in.

First time it rejected me I’m positive they asked for $200 but didn’t see that this time around. Maybe we don’t get American advice in Canada. Is there tariffs on that too?..lol
