Yes, type 2 diabetes IS reversible

Just got a call from my doc who said my A1C was down to 6.7! That's barely above the level of being diabetic at all (6.5)! So my taking Metformin and possibly losing 20 lbs are paying off. I knew I could reverse my diabetes if I tried. Just a matter of being committed and focused on the goal. I'm continuing with my daily park walks to get more in shape and lose more weight. I've also discovered Wendy's salads as delicious healthy alternatives to processed high-carb fast foods (not to mention the occasional Wendy's caramel Frosty! Smile

Good deal, with the alternative diet and exercise. Whenever patients enter renal decline (often in their late 70s or early 80s), doctors take them off Metformin due to kidney stress, and a replacement diabetic drug can potentially have side effects. So maintaining a wide spectrum approach (instead of solely relying on medication as some people do), is indeed Da Bomb.

Yeah..my doc mentioned eventually lowering my dose of Metformin and even taking me off of it in the future. I didn't know why. Thanks for the tip.
