Yep, for mundane facts and events. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. That you can't seem to differentiate those is ridiculous.

So speaketh Saint Sagan as fondly quoted by the skeptical movement, a movement he openly despised. I debunked that truism long ago as moving the goal posts since there is no objective definition given by skeptics for extraordinary. As if there ever could be extraordinary evidence for anything, much less an elusive phenomenon like uaps. When the AARO came out a few years ago testifying before Congress that 4 meter metallic spheres traveling up to Mach 2 and emitting RF signals were being seen and filmed all over the world, that pretty much cinched the deal. We are now living in the age of trying to figure out what these things are and what the govt has long known about them. Hence all the scientific projects/groups now studying them and taking them seriously.

Like I said, you not being able to differentiate the mundane from the extraordinary (a simple dichotomy between the everyday and the extremely rare or odd) is just ridiculous... but very expected of the illiterate. There absolutely is extraordinary evidence. Electricity making dead muscles move, the moon landing, reaching the wreckage of the Titanic, etc.. All extraordinary things that no one should accept without extraordinary evidence. So far, there is no such compelling evidence for UFOs. If there were, they'd be just as much mundane facts as these other formerly extraordinary things.

They are not not mundane because no one is seeing them. Over the past 80 years there have been tens of thousands of accounts, photos, videos, radar trackings and medically documented physical effects on eyewitnesses of this phenomenon. The reason they are not mundane is because they behave and appear to be something totally beyond what we know and are used to. And they continue to defy all our attempts to identify them. That's the neat thing about truly anomalous phenomena. They can never be mundane because they are otherworldly by their very nature. Just like psychic abilities, ghosts, sasquatch, synchronicities, healings, possessions, OOBEs, abductions, and mystical experiences. They will never be mundane until we accept the existence of these other realms beyond this physical one we are so used to.

Yet the extraordinary has become mundane countless time throughout history... when actual science is involved.
