Uh no. Safety nets for immigrants who have crossed the border are not causing any problems at all. The problem is how to adapt our country to a situation that is not going away and that we are in fact contributing to thru the employment of immigrants. Criminalization has never stopped them. Incarceration doesn't deter them. The desperation of these people is so extreme nothing has worked so far. The only feasible solutions lies in some sort of pathway to citizenship. Of streaming the process of immigration so there is no 3 year wait period. Treating them like dangerous fugitives only to be deported solves nothing.

So you want me to fall for your red herrings about safety nets, when no one ever mentioned it. You used that red herring straw man to avoid the fact that these cities/states promote open border policies. See, you are now projecting your avoidance of arguments, itself as a red herring to avoid the argument.

You claim the situation isn't going away, but refuse to address the policies that literally incentivize the problem. The flood of illegal border crossings has already hugely abated, just from simple, existing border control laws that Biden (and open border proponents) refused to enforce. Sure, soft-on-crime Democrat "criminalization" has never worked, but actual criminalization with real and immediate consequences objectively has worked.

No, you don't get to avoid Democrat policies that caused the problem only to argue that we must now accept everyone as a citizen... because Democrats want it. That you cannot seem to engage with the simple consequences of Democrat policies demonstrates that you cannot, with any intellectual honesty, engage is a discussion of real solutions.
