Had to Laugh

Federal election campaigns going on in Canada. We have the Parliamentary system so I cast my vote for a local candidate who in most cases belongs to a political party.

The Liberal Party candidate in my area has been phoning me every 3-4 days asking for my support. I never answer them nor do I pick up the phone and call them back since they leave messages should you have any questions. However yesterday took the cake when I received a TEXT message from someone claiming to be Mark Carney the Liberal Party leader vying to replace Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister of Canada.

The skeptic in me had me chuckling. Who falls for this stuff? Even if legitimate, it feels like an invasion of privacy. I wouldn’t respond to that text in a million years. My bet is this is a scammer who just can’t wait to find out more about me. I’ve checked the web and couldn’t find a story about a scam of this sort so maybe it’s genuine or a whole lot of people have been hoodwinked into giving personal info to a stranger. I won’t be calling them.
