New Years Terrorist Attacks

The big one was in New Orleans where a large white Texas rental pickup truck plowed through crowds at the Bourbon street street party, killing upwards of ten people and injuring at least 35 more, some critically. The truck contained an ISIS flag, multiple firearms and multiple improvised explosive devices.

The driver finally stopped, got out of his truck with a gun and started firing. Police who had been patrolling the event quickly engaged him and a gun battle ensued. Two police officers were shot but managed to shoot and kill the attacker. The two cops are reported to be in stable condition.

In addition an undisclosed number of additional improvised explosive devices were discovered planted around the area. The Louisiana State Police have confirmed that four other unknown individuals (three men and a woman) were recorded on security cameras planting them.

So a terrorist cell was evidently involved and a big manhunt is underway.

The driver was identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar. He was reportedly a US citizen who lived in Houston.

The FBI is all over this and we can assume that his home, phones and computers are being searched as we speak. There are unconfirmed reports that writings have been found that confirm his radicalization by ISIS.

Another attack being investigated as terrorism took place in Las Vegas. A Tesla Cybertruck seemingly full of large fireworks mortars pulled up in front of the Trump Tower hotel and casino and exploded. The driver was killed and some seven passers-by were injured. The building itself only suffered minor damage.

Just from it being a Tesla (Elon) and Trump Tower (Trump) there is a strong suspicion that it was politically motivated.

Anyone surprised that another terrorist attack comes at the hands of Islamists? Maybe those you want to attack Israel over decimating every terrorist proxy of the world's leading funder.

The death toll in the New Orleans attack has officially risen to 15 as some of the severely injured have died at the hospital.

Interesting factoid: The Tesla cybertruck that exploded in Vegas was rented from the same car-sharing company as the Ford F-150 in New Orleans.

I'm sure there's already plenty of conspiracy theories about the exploding Tesla truck right in front of a Trump building. The milder being that it's just foreshadowing 2025.

The Las Vegas sheriff, police and FBI just held a press conference.

The cybertruck that blew up outside the Trump tower was rented in Colorado and had only recently arrived in Vegas. After arriving it was seen on surveillance cameras driving up and down in front of the Trump tower before pulling in and exploding.

The bed of the truck contained multiple cans of gasoline and large fireworks mortars. Police have not yet determined what detonated it.

The police say that Elon has personally been in touch with them and has provided helpful information including telemetry from the truck. (Tesla owners can voluntarily agree to have their vehicle download its 'experiences' on the road to Tesla for use in training full self-driving. )

Police know the identity of the deceased driver, but are withholding it at the moment.

It sounds like they still aren't sure if this was an accident, a suicide bombing, or if the detonation was remotely triggered without the driver's knowledge.

The seven passers by who were injured in Las Vegas only suffered minor injuries. Just two of them were transported to the hospital and they have already been released.

There is currently some kind of operation underway at a home in suburban north Houston. Heavily armed FBI SWAT is raiding a house somehow associated with Shamsud-Din Jabbar. They are clearing neighbors from their homes because they don't know what kind of explosives are in the home.

At the Las Vegas press conference, the police praised the thick steel body of the cybertruck, which contained the explosion, forcing it to go up instead of out. The front windows and glass doors of the Vegas Trump tower aren't even broken (actually I think a few were, not visible here.)
