There's nothing wrong with saying receiving an award while still being mentally and physically untraumatized is objectively "much better" than receiving one for suffering trauma. But as usual, the left demands that we interpret everything Trump says in the worst way possible. Their emotions are already short-circuiting their objective, rational thought before Trump even starts to speak.

And all they can do is simply demand they are psychic and know what he means, regardless of what anyone, including Trump will tell you. That's pure delusion.

Ahh.. but he didn't say "receiving the award is better." He said the award
"is much better" for the idiotic reason that the Medal of Honor is for soldiers who are in bad shape from being hit by bullets or else dead while the person who receives the Medal of Freedom is beautiful and healthy. Here's his exact quote:

"It's the equivalent of the congressional Medal of Honor," Trump said of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. "But the civilian version, it's actually much better because everyone that gets the Congressional Medal of Honor, they're soldiers."

"They're either in very bad shape because they've been hit so many times by bullets or they're dead," he said. "[Adelson] gets it, and she's a healthy, beautiful woman, and they're rated equal, but she got the Presidential Medal of Freedom."

Trump was referring to Miriam Adelson, a Republican donor who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from him in 2018 for opening two research centers aimed at stemming substance abuse and the work of the Adelson Medical Research Foundation, established to combat life-threatening illnesses.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars group blasted Trump for his comments, calling them "asinine."

"These asinine comments not only diminish the significance of our nation's highest award for valor, but also crassly characterizes the sacrifices of those who have risked their lives above and beyond the call of duty," Lipphardt said in a statement posted on the group's website.

This is not the first time Trump has expressed disdain for the appearance of wounded vets:

"In an interview with the Atlantic, Mark Milley, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, said Trump had been irritated after Luis Avila – who lost a leg and suffered brain damage after an IED attack in Afghanistan – sang at Milley’s 2019 welcome ceremony.

“Why do you bring people like that here? No one wants to see that, the wounded,” Milley said Trump told him after the ceremony.

Milley told the Atlantic that Trump said Avila should never appear in public again."
