We actually watched this some time ago. It's supposedly the start of a new trilogy of films -- after the previous "rise of Caesar" trio. This part of the reboot is finally encroaching on the era of the original 1968 "Planet of the Apes".
Who knows if anyone corresponding to the astronaut Taylor character (Charlton Heston) will show up in the next installment. Will there be a Dr. Zaius? (Thinking of the Simpson's old musical parody of POTA where they sing the Dr. Zaius song).
What's really exhausting to ponder is that they're tentatively planning yet a third trilogy of movies after this set. (Yielding a total of nine POTA movies for this 21st-century franchise.)
