Yes, Virginia: AI will soon replace human musicians and singers

Here's Rick Beato dissecting the impending doom, using the song below as an example: https://youtu.be/zbo6SdyWGns

Live performances by musicians will still have a place, but the already declining days of studio musicians being hired to make recordings will be over. Given the existing struggles of the industry, few will continue to spend the money and coddle the egos when AI programs can cheaply replicate a whole band or orchestra. The music video producers will hang it up eventually, too, since those can likewise be generated with significantly reduced flaws someday.

This is a very bad thing for musicians. The days when you could write a song, record it in a studio and get rich from sales of recordings are maybe coming to an end. Is that really so bad? Mrs C2 is a live musician and she has to turn down work. Not making a fortune but still doing very nicely, thank you. Taylor Swift seems to be doing quite well .. it will be a while before an AI takes her spot. If you're a musician and you don't like having to actually perform or 'make' music then hard times are ahead. Is Josephine Alexandra sitting at home waiting for money to come to her door? - Somehow I don't think so.

Another video with a differing opinion.

Rick Beato was wrong about AI and music listeners...and here's why
https://youtu.be/YcG-PDZGd7A

VIDEO EXCERPT: I think AI is a long way from being able to be used on television and in films. All that stuff has to be cleared [...] The main problem for most music supervisors is clearing material. Why in the world would they want to use AI music that has no clear copyright?

[...] I don't think that the people listening on the other side of that, and maybe even music supervisors, care so much about how it was made. But they do care about the copyright...
