Talks about something, anyway. It's amazing how rambling and disjointed these interviews can appear when looking solely at the raw transcript version of them. You have to edit the interjections and other erratic language items, and sometimes there's no choice but to add commentary to highlight or clarify the gist.

VIDEO: It's a basis for madness when people say the gay community, Blacks, or especially with what women think, where -- oh really, fifty percent of the species [suddenly] all agree on something?

It might be the case that the population groups which the contemporary Left appropriates as its mascots are not truly monolithic. But those posturing and presenting themselves as their leaders are, and the way the majority votes tends to go (usually) in a single partisan direction, even if they don't agree with all the ___ that a party endorses and preens itself on. So the illusion is at least maintained via certain things, and it's an effective tactic to keep preserving the illusion of there being such genuine communities that are culturally homogeneous and unified by ideology.

VIDEO: Why would we be falling for this interpretation of society as depending solely or primarily on interest groups based on gender/sex, sexual orientation, race, etc? Why would we be taking the individualism out of individuals and lumping them in these demonstrably incoherent bodies that don't even exist. The LGBT community: take me to your leader.

There is something a bit contradictory in asserting that discrimination and bigotry fall out of generalizing individuals into categories, but then performing that very act itself by lumping those same individuals under common interests and a uniform political identity. Which includes persecuting anyone who steps out of line or defects to the "other side", who doesn't conform to being a good mascot for the Left or Leftangelical causes.

"They don't even exist" he says referring to these minorities. Women and blacks and gays and the working class and latinos and the mentally ill and the obese and the disabled and immigrants and jews and muslims and yes even so-called white trash and rednecks. I think that's abit extreme. It wasn't the leftist liberals who created these categories of the stereotyped and disenfranchised.

Historical context is crucial here. These groups have a long history of being excluded and discriminated against. One only has to go back as far as the 50's to see a time when women were all expected to be Stepford wives, blacks would only be allowed to dine in the back of restaurants, gays and lesbians were considered perverts requiring psychiatric treatment, the mentally ill were corralled into medieval asylums, latinos were confined to living in the "barrio", and so on.

These minorities still exist today, at least in a political sense and as supportive communities, because it is necessary. While they were originally created by the masses based on monstrous stereotypes and popular misconceptions about them, discrimination still raises it's ugly head now and then. Especially thanks to religion and rightwing hategroups. Sure every minority member is ultimately a free and individual human being. But we must always remember and honor this unwanted legacy of theirs of belonging to a subclass and of being oppressed and dehumanized for it.

Because the cruel penchant of society in general for scapegoating and marginalizing and even outright hating its minority classes never really goes away. It is always there lurking and festering underneath the polite and smiling surfaces, no matter how enlightened and tolerant we may think ourselves. Misogyny and racism and homophobia and anti-semitism and just bigotry in general are systemic and baked into our institutions. And so that's why minorities still need to be acknowledged and protected and affirmed even today. It is good to be "awake" to some extent, jolted out the long nightmare of a painful and disgraceful history.
