
Talks about something, anyway. It's amazing how rambling and disjointed these interviews can appear when looking solely at the raw transcript version of them. You have to edit the interjections and other erratic language items, and sometimes there's no choice but to add commentary to highlight or clarify the gist.

It might be the case that the population groups which the contemporary Left appropriates as its mascots are not truly monolithic. But those posturing and presenting themselves as their leaders are, and the way the majority votes tends to go (usually) in a single partisan direction, even if they don't agree with all the ___ that a party endorses and preens itself on. So the illusion is at least maintained via certain things, and it's an effective tactic to keep preserving the illusion of there being such genuine communities that are culturally homogeneous and unified by ideology.

Why would we be taking the individualism out of individuals and lumping them in these demonstrably incoherent bodies that don't even exist. The LGBT community: take me to your leader.
There is something a bit contradictory in asserting that discrimination and bigotry fall out of generalizing individuals into categories, but then performing that very act itself by lumping those same individuals under common interests and a uniform political identity. Which includes persecuting anyone who steps out of line or defects to the "other side", who doesn't conform to being a good mascot for the Left or Leftangelical causes.
