PJW puts it very starkly and accurately. Cleverly pointing out not just that traditional bible-as-infallible-word-of-God Christianity is effectively outlawed, but even their very own hate-to-the-max Talmud.
Nominally obviously - also an 'antisemitic screed'. Logically but nominally obviously - needs to also be banned!!! Ha ha ha ha. Such rich irony. No - their heart-and-soul sacred center will be exempted.
That one of the two sponsors of this egregious next-stage Trojan Horse is not a Jew but a notional 'devout Catholic' should fool no-one. He is a paid for 'legitimizing' cuck.

The cuck-ostriches here at SV will customarily ignore at best, or in one instance, likely vehemently ridicule/denounce. So be it. You good SV citizens have been made aware of the clear implications.

"This bill provides statutory authority for the requirement that the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights take into consideration the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's (IHRA's) working definition of antisemitism when reviewing or investigating complaints of discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. According to the IHRA's working definition, antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews."

I'm not really a big fan of special legislation aimed at protecting particular groups, that don't apply to everyone else. (As a "populist" Republican and a strong Trump supporter, I'm too often on the receiving end of bias and hatred, while all the democrats' coalition members get special protections.) What's more, their definition of "antisemitism" is dangerously vague and overbroad. (No group should be set up as legally immune from all criticism.) So normally, I would oppose legislation like this.

But given what has been happening on university campuses all over in recent days, I have to reluctantly support legislation allowing/requiring the education department to defund universities that allow it to happen.

I'm fine with this for evaluating discrimination, as Jews are obviously targeted, with overt intimidation, violence, and BDS being allowed by federally-funded institutions.

As long as it doesn't stretch into the leftist nonsense of hate-speech (read anti-First Amendment), I don't have a problem protecting people from actual injuries and discrimination not faced by other groups. It's not like you could even articulate a law against BDS for "everyone else," as it's specifically targeted to one group. There is no analog for whites or even blacks.

The usual narrative is that all manner of hurtful speech and behavior is transpiring on campus grounds, hallways, and dorm rooms. Which students must be protected from via administrative polices, establishing safe spaces, social monitoring, and overall adult daycare initiatives.

Yet, when the GOP co-opts a segment of that interpretative agenda... Suddenly everything is as pristine and civil as a church service. Independent accounts of bigotry are now rumors, staged acts, and BS. Totally unsupported by school investigations and rebuffed by academic authorities. Unfounded tales, sheer hysteria, and manufactured alarm.

Perhaps the whole Woke apparatus could accordingly be appropriated in some ingenious way that doesn't actually compromise classic liberal thought orientation. The Dems would then have to tactically abandon it due to the foul taint of GOP on everything, and not wanting to be associated with anything their loathsome rivals favor.

Brian Leiter: "This is how to handle Republican representatives in their fake hearings. Watch NYC Public School Chancellor David Banks deal with the appalling Rep. Stefanik and another bozo."
