2023 marked historic progress for UFO science, though no smoking gun for aliens exists yet

INTRO: Before the start of the 2020s, almost anyone who admitted to a belief in UFOs (unidentified flying objects) or extraterrestrial visitors was dismissed as a crackpot. Yet since the start of the decade, the Pentagon has repeatedly and openly acknowledged that their own pilots have spotted and recorded images of UFOs (more specifically known as UAPs, or unidentified anomalous phenomena). The so-called Pentagon UFO videos — the initial clips of which were released to the public in 2020 — showed UAPs recorded in 2004, 2014, 2015 and 2019. The best thing to come out of 2023 uap wise imo is the Navy streamlining and making easier the uap reporting process and helping to reduce the stigma surrounding them. Ex-Navy pilots such as Dave Fravor and Ryan Graves should be especially commended for their courageous testimony and their holding to their compelling eyewitness accounts of uaps. The creation of and additional reporting from the AARO about uaps and their commonly witnessed characteristics provides further validation of the importance of continued research into the uap phenomenon. Just having a respectful dialogue about them is definitely progress over the old standard Blue Book approach of military-led debunkery and mockery and cover-ups.
