Boeing and Lockheed are looking to sell United Launch Alliance (ULA) their space launch joint venture. The asking price is surprisingly low, just a few billion.
The Wall Street Journal reports that bidders are Blue Origin (!!!) and the private equity company that bailed out Stratolaunch. Textron (a major military contractor - aircraft (Cessna, Bell Helicopters) and army ground vehicles) is also a bidder.
Blue might be a reasonably good fit, since ULA's new Vulcan rocket uses Blue's BE-4 engines.
