INTRO: The latest standalone South Park special offers a sour rebuke of Hollywood's efforts to bring inclusion to their tentpole franchises that involve recasting, genderbending or diversifying already-existing roles by turning its quartet of kids into women — hence, the title: South Park: Joining the Panderverse.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy bears the brunt of a lot of the nastiest jokes in the special, as the characters repeatedly accuse her by name of ruining Indiana Jones with the introduction of Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). The heir apparent to the franchise after Harrison Ford's final bow was met with scorn by parts of the fanbase. At the same time, South Park also takes a solid swipe at the toxic elements of fandom that are unwilling to accept any meaningful changes to promote inclusion in Hollywood tentpoles.
