Article  Are coincidences real?

Quote:A sign is just a coincidence perceive to have a deeper meaning. That meaning doesn't have to be a specific message.

And yet there is no deeper meaning to my synchronicities other than the usual amusement and surprise that I experience when I notice them. It is the same with other ways that the universe happens, like serendipity, irony, karma, luck, inspiration, and the outright anomalous. Events that solicit in me the intuitive realization that its not all random collisions of atoms and photons out there. That there IS deeper meaning, and it is almost always surprising. A sign though? No.. Perhaps nothing more than the demonstration of the law that to every action there is an opposite yet equal reaction. In this case, the read or thought about word, symbol, or idea, and the occurrence of the same in the outer world, as if in a mirror. The sinking and dreamful inward of creative thought matched by the pulling outward of the distracting and jolting fluke.

See how you cherry-picked my post to avoid where synchronicities are literally signs?
And you wonder why people question your reading skills. 9_9

I just told you how my synchronicities are not signs. That's not cherry-picking anything.,

And I just cited that labeling random coincidence as "synchronicities" is, itself, adding the significance to make them signs.... but you selectively omitted that bit.

"The word "sign" means a mark, object, or event that indicates, represents, or communicates something else."---Google AI

A synchronicity isn't conveying any information. There is nothing learned from it. It is simply an inexplicable concurrence of inner and outer events. It provokes wonder and awe, but like all anomalous phenomena it doesn't refer to anything other than itself. Admittedly there are many who DO interpret them as signs, like confirmations of recent choices or indications of divine presence. But that doesn't mean they are. People do the same with just random coincidences, like seeing the same number turn up.

As usual, you cherry-pick definitions... when I clearly posted the meaning of "metaphysical sign," which is what we're talking about.

You claimed you learn that you're "tapping into a level of reality."

So you attribute absolutely no significance to coincidence?

I already described what it is in post 45. Reread it.

Yes, invoking "wonder and awe" and making you feel like you're "tapping into a level of reality" are added significance of signs.

Synchronicity is the occurrence of meaningful coincidences that seem to be related but lack a clear causal connection, a concept first introduced by psychologist Carl Jung. It often involves both an internal state (like a thought or emotion) and an external event occurring at the same time. While some see these events as having spiritual significance, others, particularly scientists, attribute them to psychological factors like pattern recognition or confirmation bias.

Since you obviously don't "attribute them to psychological factors like pattern recognition or confirmation bias," you clearly do see some significance in them.
And "tapping into a level of reality" sure sounds spiritual or metaphysical.
Synchronicities: A Sure Sign You're on the Right Path

Synchronicities are events connected to one another not by strict cause-and-effect.
A synchronicity is a coincidence where an external event mirrors an internal one.
Carl Jung believed that synchronicities mirror deep psychological processes and carry messages the way dreams do.

Don't like it? Quit calling it synchronicity.
