Apparently the US military doesn't work at night. (Union work rules.)

I wonder if some foreign power is flooding our airspace with these things, or whether they have always been there but were ignored until the Spy Balloon goosed the military.

An autolauncher in the "great north" can supposedly release 24 balloons before needing to be restocked. They keep going with the commercial air traffic excuse, as if somebody in the hierarchy knows the probable source (i.e., not a national threat).

EDIT: Official that the 4th object associated with Havre, Montana was a false alarm.

Proper weather slash research balloons travel above commercial flights, so it was correct to eliminate the Alaskan and Yukon UFOs since they were indeed too low, failing in that regard. Biden and Trudeau are off the hook, regardless of what the objects are or who ultimately owns them.

One other potential for the sources of Unidentified ballons etc.

Hackers and organised crime. Running darkweb proxies outside of the network (only hooking to localised nodes) means that it's not observable by governments, organisations and surveilance programs. That makes it difficult to block attacks or shut down stream sources since they won't be on the standard networks.

It's interesting and a revealing facet of human nature's tendency to self-incriminate that one poster here, famous for castigating others over at another site for jumping to unwarranted conclusions, engages in just that.
I'm referring to repeated and quite deliberate use of the term 'Chinese spy balloon'.
When there is not a shred of credible independently verifiable evidence establishing the dramatically reported shot down Chinese balloon was in fact engaging in covert spying/military intel surveillance.

It's now abundantly clear that 'it was a spy balloon' will out of political expediency always be the US admin's line. just as it will always be denied by the Chinese admin.
One has to take a cautious appraisal and admit any judgement is necessarily provisional and personal. Or rather that should be the case.

Imitation is flattery but dangerous. What could happen....west coast balloon enthusiast designs a reasonable copy from photo, flies in it, gets unfavorable wind, gets lost, shows up on radar, jets scramble, balloon shot from sky, casualties, protests in the streets, lawsuits, congressional hearings, constitutional rights, Supreme Court .... something like that.

They haven't found any Chinese nationals splattered on the ground or floating in the water have they?
