Did Aleister Crowley contact an alien grey?

Did Crowley channel an alien being called LAM, long before the modern UFO movement? Patrick Fennelly reveals:

"Throughout Crowley’s years as a magus, he often attempted to contact intelligences of the non-human variety. Through the uttering of ‘barbarous’ names, incantations, and ancient inscriptions and veiled verses, Crowley called forward all manner of spirits, daemons and invisible masters.

One particular ‘entity’ is the character known as ‘LAM’. Around 1917, in New York, Crowley drew the image of this ‘praeter-human intelligence’, after performing a ritual now known as the ‘Alamantrah’ working. During this experiment, a discarnate entity urged Crowley to “find the egg”, and it seems, at some point, Crowley experienced contact with this large headed entity we have come to know as LAM.What’s interesting about LAM, or, at least, Crowley’s drawing of large headed, small featured alien LAM, is the stark resemblance it bares to the popular image of aliens we have come to know since the UFO boom following the Roswell incident in the 40s. Yet Crowley’s image obviously far predates the UFO mania that followed the alleged alien crash and subsequent, apparent, alien visitations that followed."===http://disinfo.com/2012/12/did-aleister-...restrials/

Very unlikely.

Crowley was apparently trying to imagine a more evolved human, with a bigger brain-case.

The 'greys' aren't always imagined as having that enlarged brain, are they?

My guess is that the similarities are due to these beings being the product of human imagination, which typically starts out with human beings as its raw material when imagining alien intelligences.

So we get humanoids with inexplicable similarities to ourselves. Bipedal chordates with two arms and faces arranged just like our own.

Real space-aliens will probably be the products of an entirely different evolutionary history, and will have dramatically different biochemistries and anatomical body-plans. Hence they will be far more alien than these products of human imagination.

Expect radically different body plans as alien as an octopus with squirming Lovecraftian tentacles or clicking mandibles.

I don't think we can rule out the consequences of covergent evolution working on millions of other planets. Eyes, hands, legs, etc. all show signs of being across the board standard accessories for your basic carbon-based lifeform. It may very well be that an octopus kind of entity evolves to be intelligent. But without the dexterity and digitality and stereoscopic vision required by tool use and then advanced technology, I wouldn't expect them to evolve towards interplanetary travel. Which is fine. Imagine a planet of squidian ectomorphs with advanced psychic abilities manipulating reality thru telekinetic means. Maybe they are achieving modes of universal exploration that we have yet to only dream of.
