Thunder Flash

Adobe's Flash is currently being boycotted by Mozilla due to recent exploits stolen from Hacking Team being utilised by cyber-criminals.  At least that's the face value commentary online in regards to how numerous companies want to get adobe to kill off flash.

What isn't taken into consideration though is most, if not all alternative mediums that would replace flash have strict DRM standards already applied to their framework, something that flash doesn't.  Killing flash off is therefore a kind of media coup to remove people from watching streaming video's that haven't been DRM encoded.  In other words the MPAA probably is rejoicing at the notion of Flash's imminent demise.

Seems to be a similar attitude about Java. When there was all that buzz a couple of years ago or more ago about its increased exploitation by hackers, and warnings about Oracle not keeping up in terms of update protection, and Firefox red-flagging versions of it on its Plugin manager, I finally just uninstalled it. Can't say I really miss its mildly annoying update prompts and nags, either.
