I'm the crazy one because I use red cabbage and red onions. Would even use red garlic if not for the seeming scarcity here.
Some compulsive -phila revolving around "gotta' have those anthocyanins".

Red cabbage with red onions sounds delish. Maybe with a cup of red wine added for good measure.
