Tolerance was likely the first step in the slippery slope to the current virtue-signalling we see today. That desire to mask violence in piety.

I like the way this guy talks. I don’t think there’s a language barrier here. He actually pauses and thinks about what he has to say, like he’s typing a response on this forum. Angel  Is that attribute in many a placard waving SJW?

I tolerate religion so I guess I should be allowed to critique it and it can criticize my opinions. To not be tolerant….does it imply acceptance? I’d rather be told to tolerate than blindly accept…isn’t that what democracy promotes?

I like Osho. I post alot of quotes by him.

“Experience life in all possible ways --
good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light,
summer-winter. Experience all the dualities.
Don't be afraid of experience, because
the more experience you have, the more
mature you become.”

Yeah, he seems to take the time to choose his words. Since most SJW seem completely knee-jerk, I seriously doubt there's any considered thought behind any of it.

Tolerance is masking hatred with false acceptance. The lie of "agreeing to disagree." To some extent, it's being too cowardly to assert one's true opinion. But what hatred doesn't include fear? "Tolerance" assumes that, if given the opportunity, you'd rather destroy the thing, but for the sake of peace, or getting along, or some other false social nicety, you hide your true feelings. But you could maintain peace by simply not acting on those feelings, while still expressing them. That's the healthy way to behave.

Tolerance isn't the opposite of acceptance. Tolerance is just this nonsense notion that words are as harmful as actions, so words must be censored. But the need to censor your opinion only exists where you think others will deem you mean, bigoted, hateful, etc.. IOW, tolerance is trying to hide those exact things. You have to be afraid, of either other's opinions or what they may say about you, to hide your feelings.

Acceptance is something we only do with people we agree with. For everyone else, we should try to avoid dwelling on any hatreds. Unless you are engaging with them, you should be able to truly let it go and forget them. Now, if the actual actions of another are actively harming you, that's another story. But words don't hurt.
