Yeah, Biden essentially telling US citizens trapped in Kabul, "good luck."

The State Department is once again telling Americans stranded in Kabul to shelter in place and to avoid the airport.

There have been reports of Taliban at checkpoints outside the airport roughing up Americans and taking thair passports and IDs.

Flights are operating in and out of the airport but word is that the number of Americans evacuated is relatively small, with most of the space going to Afghans.

Apparently UK, France, and Germany are sending troops to rescue/evacuate their people, but the US is not.

The Woke figure they can undo evolution overnight so I think they should be able to change the culture over there. Send some over, Taliban won’t know what hit them.

What if our elected officials went to work every day with an Uzzi strapped aver their shoulders? Trying to picture Biden wearing a bandolier and brandishing a sub machine gun while addressing Congress or the media. Any one of those Taliban leaders probably a better military commander than Sleepy. If I’m an American in that manure pile of a country I can’t get out fast enough, before Joe forgets his order and changes his mind.

The US currently has far more troops deployed in stable democracies and countries at no risk of war than the measly 2,500 they had in Afghanistan.
Japan - 53,938
South Korea - 26,326
Guam - 6,161
Germany - 35,486
Italy - 12,535
UK - 9,515
Spain - 3,256
Bahrain - 4,008

So what did it hurt to leave 2,500 who weren't seeing many casualties? Just because people claimed it was the longest war? That's a stupid reason to suddenly leave a whole country open to that kind of terrorism.

Well, the Taliban are saying that if American forces remain at the Kabul airport past August 31, there will be "consequences". That leaves only eight days to evacuate thousands of US citizens still unable to get to the airport, as many as 6,000 American troops, and an unknown number of Afghans (nobody is really sure who all of them are) who crowd the airport and the roads leading to it, and try to force their way onto every aircraft that's leaving. Plus all the equipment (helicopters, armored vehicles) at the airport.

Over the last week, the Pentagon says that it's evacuated approx 17,000 people from Kabul. But that only included approx 2,500 Americans. The rest were Afghans and other foreign nationals. It's almost as if Americans are being forced to the back of the bus. Americans in Kabul are still being told to stay away from the airport until they are told to come.

All because Biden wanted all US troops out by Sept 11, so that he could give a big triumphant nationwide address on the 20th annivarsary of 9-11.

Well, that blew up in his face.

Meanwhile, Speaker Pelosi was busy hosting a swanky fundraiser at a winery in California's wine-country full of wealthy San Francisco democrats. (Dunno if it's the winery that she owns, she's very wealthy despite having been a "public servant" all her life.) The assembled rich dems are all White, the only Asians and Hispanics visible are servers. Blacks seemingly totally absent. Masks nowhere in evidence except among the servers.

So she obviously has her own priorities set during this crisis.

I'm glad we're evacuating the Afgans who want to leave, even if it just as far as Qatar. These people are terrified of what the Taliban might do to them, and after 20 years of free democratic living, who knows what they will lose.

The Taliban has given US troops till August 31st to complete the evacuation. Will they make it? Or will the date be changed. Stay tuned to a newssource near you!

The Taliban dictating terms is literally negotiating with terrorists. Biden has make the US look incredibly weak to the entire world. Maybe weaker that it's every looked.
At least with Trump, they laughed to cover their abject fear of the US.

I am too.

I do think that the US government should prioritize getting Americans out. Any country's first responsibility is to that country's people. I gather that there are only a few thousand Americans, so there's lots of capacity for Afghans once the Americans are out or well on their way out.

That being said, I'm not comfortable with Afghans just forcing their way onto planes without any vetting process. I can imagine the toughest young men displacing vulnerable families who really need our help. To it's credit, the US government seems to be trying to address that, enforcing what order they can at the airport, then flying people to Qatar or wherever for processing.

But yeah, the clock's ticking.

Edit: The Taliban announced today (Tuesday 8-24) that they will no longer allow Afghans through their airport checkpoints.
