New study finds drinking too much coffee can shrink your brain, increase dementia risk significantly
https://thehill.com/changing-america/wel...can-shrink

KEY POINTS: Researchers from the University of South Australia assessed the effects of coffee on the brain among more than 17,700 participants between the ages 37 and 73. They found that participants who consumed more than six cups of coffee each day had a 53-percent increased risk of dementia and smaller total brain volumes. Healthy adults are advised to limit their daily coffee intake to about four or five cups, which is roughly 400 milligrams of caffeine... (MORE - details)

COVID surge in unvaccinated is pushing US to more mandates, masks, mitigation
https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/07/...itigation/

INTRO: The ongoing COVID-19 surge among unvaccinated people is pushing the US toward more vaccine mandates, renewed mask use, and other mitigation efforts.

With around 51 percent of the country not fully vaccinated and the hypertransmissible delta variant spreading rapidly, the country's pandemic outlook is grim and getting grimmer. Cases are still increasing in all 50 states and up 170 percent in the last two weeks, with the pace of case increases also accelerating.

COVID-19 is thriving in places with relatively low vaccination rates. Arkansas and Louisiana have the highest rates of new cases, and both states have only 36 percent of their residents vaccinated. Florida, Missouri, and Mississippi are also seeing surges among the unvaccinated.

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 are up 58 percent across the nation, and 97 percent of those patients are unvaccinated. Deaths are also increasing nationwide, up 20 percent, and almost exclusively among unvaccinated people... (MORE)

I drink a thermos tumbler of coffee every morning which is equal to about 3 cups. Around 1 or 2 pm I go get a large Dr. Pepper from McD's for a buck. If my brain shrinks so be it. I think my brain was too big to begin with.

Considering that female brain mass is small in comparison to men and them seem not to suffer any greater level of dementia than men, I don't think that equating brain mass with dementia risk is prevalent.

To be honest you could imply that the brain could organise to be more effective which causes the shrinking (likely through the increase in dopamine receptor activity and reduction of seratonin.) The problem of course is that drinking coffee constantly means having an artificial chemistry level which when alleviated would likely cause detrimental effects to be observant. (In other words, the absense of higher dopamine activity would appear like dementia)

Encephalitis is not the kind of "big brain" you should be bragging about.
