What a waste of their intellects. Maybe debates ARE better held face to face. If at all. To me debating artificially reduces thought to a matter of mere position-taking. I can't stand Noam Chomsky. He did some very good work in the philosophy of language decades ago, but has turned himself into a caricature of the left-wing intellectual since. |
