David Lynch comments on his "Dune" - Magical Realist - Mar 29, 2025 I don't care what they say David. I still love it! https://www.facebook.com/reel/650048701315028 RE: David Lynch comments on his "Dune" - Syne - Mar 29, 2025 Lynch's Dune is still better then the new one. RE: David Lynch comments on his "Dune" - Yazata - Mar 29, 2025 I liked David Lynch's Dune! It had an otherworldliness that appealed to me. It wasn't just a conventional drama in a space setting. It was like looking in at exceedingly foreign cultures where even the littlest things seemed slightly... off. Which is exactly what we would expect in a galaxy-spanning culture with thousands of years separating them and us. We today would look considerably off to an ancient Roman in terms of dress, behavior, technology, fundamental assumptions and worldview, and Dune's galactic empire would be a much bigger chasm. I think David Lynch succeeded in capturing a little of that. |
