Not a dog guy but when I see people driving along with the K9 on their lap I wonder just what's going on inside the owner's head. Anyways, in Ontario it's only $110 fine for driving with dog on lap. What happens to the mutt if you hit something with dog on your lap and air bag deploys? Bed of a pick up truck seems like a good spot for Rover, but I imagine that's probably not recommended also. Do animal cruelty laws come into play in some cases as well, IOW no restraint could mean injured pooch.
