I see the President's Revolt is now being compared to other riotous activity in the US.

This is the Trump Delusion thread.

Having been carried on the shoulders of the adoring crowd to the steps of Capitol Hill (which may not exist but this is a delusion thread) Trump addresses the crowd (over a million) and they settle down singing (on his behalf) "I [we] shall not be moved". It is probably within the power of the POTUS to order that crowd NOT be dispersed. There seems to be little dispute about Trump being a charismatic leader but it seems he isn't charismatic enough and it didn't work out as planned (though it wouldn't surprise me if he hasn't bid for Nancy Pelosi's lectern on ebay). Seen from the point of view of both the POTUS and the crowd it would be reasonable to expect little or no resistance from the security forces defending the target. When (if) the police become the enemy of the POTUS you have more serious problems than real (or imagined) election rigging.

I'm not even going to attempt to compare this account of a delusion (a folly) with other events in the US or any other country at any other time.
