Quote:Motivation for isolation: A hermit's isolation can be due to many reasons, including a simple preference for solitude. A hermit incel's withdrawal is explicitly driven by their sexual frustration and anger toward those they blame for their situation.
Internal vs. external blame: A person living as a traditional hermit is not necessarily angry at others. A hermit incel, however, believes they are victims of a rigged "sexual marketplace" and blames others for their predicament.
Mental state: While a hermit may find peace in solitude, studies show that incels suffer from significantly higher rates of depression and anxiety compared to the general population.
Voluntary celibates (both bachelors and spinsters) have existed for ages, with religious motives being but one among many reasons. Obviously, relationships can be complicated -- even in serious ones that don't involve marriage, it still means dealing with more than just one person: their immediate family, relatives, friends, work associates, already existing children, etc.
The voluntary celibate's evaluation of that overpopulated situation: "Sex isn't worth the trouble, debt, and personal loss of freedom." You're never (or rarely) ideally buying the bull or the cow by themselves. Only pure sex-buddies (zero emotional attachments and obligations) or paying sex-worker transactions avoid that accompanying social maze and burden.
While there are many subcategories of asexual people, one particular group just does not like real-life sex. Not the up-close skin flaws and other disillusionments, the sharing of microorganisms and body fluids, the odors, the noises, etc. High-level intimacy is literally horrifying to them, especially if they're kind of paranoid about disease and other contamination.
Asimov's The Naked Sun exemplified a population that avoided physical contact.

Quote:While a hermit is defined by self-imposed social withdrawal, the "incel" portion of this label signifies a person who blames their involuntary sexual and romantic isolation on women and society. The combination paints a picture of profound social alienation mixed with resentment and misogyny.
Well that sure eliminates me! lol
So that just leaves the one woman-hater in this forum...hmmm...now who could THAT be?

Does it? Does it eliminate the one who is admittedly asexual and never even been in love, or does it eliminate the one who has been in love several times, has had many relationships, and more shorter-term sexual partners?

One thing I didn’t mention. In the case of the AI answer as to describing a hermit incel, I deliberately did not mention anything about a gay incel (gaycel). In fact if you want to ask AI any questions on the incel subject, I learned that you have to be very careful how you word it. Try it for yourself if you don’t believe me.
Anyways I stole this tidbit from a previous question about gay hermit incel. Is it relevant?

It is crucial to differentiate the experiences of gaycels from the misogynistic and violent extremism associated with the dominant incel movement.
Gay Involuntary Celibate (Gaycel)
Core Blame: Typically expresses loneliness and frustration with personal circumstances and challenges within the dating scene.
Ideology: Does not share the same extremist anti-women ideology, though their frustrations can be misused by others to fuel hostility toward open or polyamorous relationships.
Behavior: The experience is rooted in loneliness and social rejection. The resulting emotions are typically channeled inward or directed at the gay dating scene, not an entire gender.

Hard to be all resentful and bitter over not having something you never wanted to begin with.

Yeah, there's a difference. The term incel was actually started by a women, as a community to help incels of all genders. Gaycel was a gay take on that origin.
Today's incels are busy blaming others for them not succeeding in life, much less with women.
I am glad MR has moved on from blame and reached acceptance of his lot in life. Now if he'd only quit projecting this shortcoming of his on others, I wouldn't keep rubbing his nose in it. But this started years ago, with MR starting every insult... and now he whines because he can't take what he dishes out.

I think he knew the first AI answer wasn’t about his lot but tried to make it look like it was for some kind of vindication. Predictable behavior for a phoney. Just an angry troll. Too easy!

Duh..you're the moron that posted the AI definition of incel without reading it. Not my fault it didn't fit me at all.
