I suppose it could be something akin to
pocket dialing or butt-calls, depending on what kind of pressure from the bent metal was being applied to him or wherever the phone was. But 2008 was when smartphones were just beginning in earnest (iPhone released in 2007), and he may have had a more protected flip-phone. At least ten butt dials in a row have occurred, but I don't know what the record is (or why people would be reporting such to begin with).
