INTRO: "This song is called 'Winter', I wrote it after I moved into my current place in the forest. I was very fascinated by the way the seasons changed so clearly around here. The wintry softness and silence, whirling snowflakes and slow footsteps through the creaking, freshly fallen snow, is what inspired this piece."

TUNING: not indicated; capo at 7th fret position

May 11, 2022 - Karlijn Langendijk: "Winter" ... https://youtu.be/FTQHE53NPwY
Affections Touching Across Time

Original was a piano-based theme used somewhere in an anime adaptation (both broadcasts & films) of a manga series called "Inuyasha".

Lyrics were later added by a Korean named ____ and sung by Raon Lee: https://youtu.be/dgnKE4xRP4A

Here's an English cover of that cover: https://youtu.be/9hbDdXl0WZk

TUNING (half-step down): Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb ... capo on 11th fret position

Mar 12, 2022 - Sungha Jung: "Affections Touching Across Time" ... https://youtu.be/qlp2_Du01w0

NOTE: Considering that half-step down tuning has the same fingering configurations as standard tuning, not sure why a capo could not be used at the 10th fret in standard to produce the same. Maybe it works/sounds better with the strings lax in tension.
These two conversations were both submitted March 4th:

Although the vid below was submitted this month, the performance itself was actually recorded back in 2007.

TUNING: apparently standard; capo at 2nd fret position

Tabs for Tommy's arrangements can be found here (PDFs): https://tommyemmanuel.rocks/tommys-tabs/

Mar 6, 2022 - Tommy Emmanuel: "Happy Hours" ... https://youtu.be/oIRU0LEgvoQ
Three Little Birds

Not saying that this is an instrumental cover of the Bob Marley song (doesn't sound like it to my unreliable aural perception); but if it was, this would be the original (1977): https://youtu.be/HNBCVM4KbUM

TUNING: not indicated; capo might -- MIGHT -- be on the second fret.

Mar 12, 2022 - Jonathan Barnes: "Three Little Birds" ... https://youtu.be/a37gkdJ8LCk

Go to circa the 2:50 mark for the actual start of the performance. She gives a lecture about the historical background of the composition prior to that.

The original is here (2012): https://youtu.be/J3DWAJGaf7o

TUNING: C-G-D-G-C-D ... capo on 7th fret

Another Brick In The Wall

The original is here (1979): https://youtu.be/HrxX9TBj2zY

Nishimura's "studio" version of this cover (circa a year ago) is here: https://youtu.be/UJD77tJ1BEw

TUNING: C-D-D-F-A-D ... (Have no idea if the 5th string -- normally tuned to a bass "A" note -- is raised in pitch to beyond the point of breakage; or dropped to what would be a very floppy, lower "D" note for that gauge size.)

FOR REFERENCE ONLY: standard tuning is E-A-D-G-B-E (from 6th string to 1st)

Mar 15, 2022 - Kent Nishimura [live]: "Another Brick In The Wall" (Pink Floyd) ... https://youtu.be/aDpP3xLssgw

Here's a recent Spencer Elliot track ("There's Something In The Airlock") that couldn't be presented in this thread due to it being a trio performance: https://www.scivillage.com/thread-2918-p...l#pid49766

That's All

1st recording was arguably this one by Nat King Cole (1953): https://youtu.be/YDINjg6H5Eo

The Bobby Darin version is here (1959): https://youtu.be/QHHXSH3D9sw

TUNING: not indicated ... Lack of embed intentional, try to limit that to one per post, now.

Wedding Song (Dad's Gonna Cry)

Even though Kenny Hill composed it and his vid is slightly newer, I decided to embed the Gretchen Menn version because of the design of and the weird frets on the Kenny Hill guitar that she's playing.
