I like that there's no time limit for edits

I also like the fact that edits have no time limits. One way that I often use the edit feature is when some ongoing event is occurring. The Perseverance landing on Mars last Thursday is an example. If something new is happening every few minutes, it's easiest to add the new happenings to the bottom of an earlier post about the whole event. That seems to work better than a whole succession of small posts.

If it's relatively soon (like maybe same day) with no intervening posts, new posts are appended to your last one, without the need to edit.

Good point. Not sure what a forum’s motive is for restricting the edit to 20 minutes? Maybe for technical reasons, it is better from an Administrator’s point of view. Hmm.
