A Zonkey

People at a wild animal park in Africa noticed a female zebra accompanied by a strange brown foal. Turns out that it's a zonkey, a rare species-mix produced by a donkey mating with a zebra.

They have been known for a long time but are rare. (Darwin mentioned them.) They are thought to be sterile like mules, though that doesn't appear to be 100% certain. What is certain is that if they reproduce at all, it's only with difficulty. (The problem isn't with their genitalia but with their chromosomes, which fail to pair up properly during meiosis.) Mules have the same problem, although according to Wikipedia, about 60 examples of Mules successfully producing offspring have been recorded since the 1500's. In ancient times, Herodotus mentions a mule giving birth and considered it an ill omen. Aristotle didn't believe that it was possible.

Reminds me of a mother hen raising chicks with webbed feet and strange bills beaks after sitting on duck eggs for a month.
