They’ve been linked to road rage, pathological gambling, and complicated acts of fraud. Some make us less neurotic, and others may even shape our social relationships. It turns out many ordinary medications don’t just affect our bodies – they affect our brains. Why? And should there be warnings on packets?

Quote:“Patient Five” was in his late 50s when a trip to the doctors changed his life.
He had diabetes, and he had signed up for a study to see if taking a “statin” – a kind of cholesterol-lowering drug – might help. So far, so normal.
But soon after he began the treatment, his wife began to notice a sinister transformation. A previously reasonable man, he became explosively angry and – out of nowhere – developed a tendency for road rage. During one memorable episode, he warned his family to keep away, lest he put them in hospital.
Out of fear of what might happen, Patient Five stopped driving. Even as a passenger, his outbursts often forced his wife to abandon their journeys and turn back. Afterwards, she’d leave him alone to watch TV and calm down. She became increasingly fearful for her own safety.
Then one day, Patient Five had an epiphany. “He was like, ‘Wow, it really seems that these problems started when I enrolled in this study’,” says Beatrice Golomb, who leads a research group at the University of California, San Diego.

I used to get migraines, not so much over the past couple of years when I changed my diet to a more organic, paleo type - and just stay consistent with work outs. If I'm sleep deprived or drink wine, they creep up. So, I don't drink wine too often. I think it's the tannins?

I'll try that method you recommend though, if I'm struck with a headache.

Euphoria seems to counter some pain. I can think of other human actions that lessen or erase pain, even if only temporary. For instance nice warm hugs and well, you know.
Quote:nice warm hugs

clothing optional aerobic hugs ? Tongue
lol  Blush

^ is this directed at me? lol

oops typo
lol
if it was intended it would be more like leighe

Quote:what is the 4th largest product in the world ?
oil
sex
money
... pain killers
In that order, eh?

Roughly when you add porn prostitution entertainment & all sexualy orientated business into 1 group.
"sex sells"
keeping in mind real-estate and art move big numbers, but transactional product are service movements for example all plastic sales = oil
almost everything sold is made of oil...
= 90% of all sales in the entire world spend oil

a product purchased to be in connection with sex or marriage ...
food, flowers, toys, services cars, etc etc ....
a retail product or service that by its very intent is designed to be a part of a human primary process
saying sorry with flowers/chocolates/expensive cars and holidays and diamonds and ... anything else
the primary component is the human interaction which drives the existence
without the people there would be no market(quoting an old finance tutor lol).

buying & selling money
Foreign exchange currency markets(stocks & bonds are just a carrier for cash, so the entire stock exchange system is just a money market which uses stocks & bonds instead of raw currency)

Quote:i was going to pull some google results numbers in dollar values of global sales for you to be mind boggled at but i see they have deliberately buried the data in the search engines.

well ...
not surprising considering the USA opioid liable case against a pharmco creator.

that poorly managed shit-show of a pretense to care by state puppets has probably smashed all ability to access real data around these types of things now.

meanwhile they(the usa government) continue to close and defund womens reproductive health clinics and are deliberately causing a massive increase in STI's & STD's by defunding many health programs

STI's and STD's in the usa are running rampant and out of control because of government de-funding health clinics

and they have the moral corruption to chase pharmco's for penalty payments to make their own political egos look good.
while they attempt to destroy the affordable care act
assholes !
as close to evil as you can get without needing a proctological exam

There is so much that is wrong with the US healthcare system, but I don't want to see private healthcare (at least the option) disappear, or the option to receive it through one's employer. I think that is what pretty much sealed Warren's fate, and why she started to poll poorly in the campaign race. She simply couldn't explain how universal healthcare/medicare for all was going to be funded.

part of the problem there is that the private health companys control the peoples ability to choose what type of system they want.
false democracy
while on one side you have those who seek to line their own pockets in a war like mentality, willing to sacrifice patients and ecconomys & companys
while on the other you have the intellectual medical professional whom can clearly see a better way that will deliver better patient outcomes and build a better nation and system
however... there are soo many people making so much money.
none of them are willing to give an inch to shift the system focus from highly expensive and massively inefficient private bills combined compulsory copayments
to a more directly and cheaper cost system which is majority government paid in one bill

the billing systems they have developed create their own industry purely based on just the co-payment process.

im not sure warren is capable of explaining something she may not entirely grasp
and/or even among many democrats such an idea would be political suicide because of the old worldly ignorance and combined out-right greed along side ignorant fear
mix it al together and you have a toxic dependency
just like an abusive family

combine the
opioid business
paracetamol business
ibuprofen business
all hospital pain medications
that business is mind boggling

what is interesting is that superficially it appears women take more pain medication than men, yet live longer

from working along side groups of women from late teens to retirees re-entering the work force, pregnancy's etc etc
women tend to have a vast amount of head aches compared to men
... no brain no pain i guess
Big Grin

where does placebo stop & pain medication start ?

these are some of the fake sites that have been set up to pull clicks on google to hide the real data

https://www.marketwatch.com/press-releas...2019-10-10

https://www.360researchreports.com/TOC/13881895#Tables

market watch appears to be an AI BOT TROLL

now i see they have created a fake science platform and called it sales to hot link thier fake links to so it burrys the specific contents into a non result

thats kinda slightly clever for very ignorant people
but it surely looks obvious to people like me who have spent years doing personal research into things on the internet.

Interesting, Rainbow. Re: headaches, can't speak for all women, but I'd say the majority of my headaches have usually been hormonal (once/twice monthly), outside of that, I don't get them too often. Unless I have wine, or I'm dehydrated.
