family crisis
lack of self confidence & lack of self belief requiring constant reassurance from friends.
paranoia
serious co-dependancy issues
narcissist Narcissist
juvenile or inttellectually disabled
emergency responder who must always be on call

if you are on a date & they are checking their phone, look them straight in the eye and ask them "is that your mum?"

While I've never had this happen to me, I would simply end the date.

But if you were the one on the phone then would that be the signal to your date that this isn't going well and for all intents, it's ended? Just wondering if there's a double standard on this behavior, like it's gender specific or something like that. Would you wait to officially end it once the bill has been paid? Wink

sociopath
culturely monothesiastic
communication problems
clear intent to avoid issues
lack of ability to address important issues.
lack of caring for social customs.

take your pick.

the gender specific issues is culture.
if you want a gender stereo typed relationship then your on the right track.
playing games and trying to get a free meal while socially critquing your date(to your friends on your cell phone) etc as some people do is just pathalogical.

if your soo inclinded to have cultural social behaviour boundarys that require pre-ordained social behaviours then you probably should work those out before you put yourself into a public situation with the person.

My plan gives me 5 gigs of data,  unlimited texting/long distance in Canada. I never use free wifi, it is such a hassle, and to this date I've never used more than 2 gigs in a month. Probably helps that I don't do a lot with the cell phone other than look up info and make/receive calls.

Most gigs in a month was when I used phone as a hotspot a couple times for a laptop I had at the cabin.

Some of these addicts must have outrageous phone bills, I can't think of one addiction that doesn't come with a cost.

Mine allows 50MB, I think.  That's probably plenty for the type of Internet access that I need if I am careful.  I would have to budget that over 4 months.  The service cost is about $11 for 4 months.  However, my landline is what I use continuously for DSL, though.

with the massive expansion in personal devices connected to the internet. the ISP's realise they can monetarise every single one of those and make 10 times as much money as they were previousely.
free wifi connections will be direclty targetted to stamp them out for general public use unles directly linked to a profit making process(i.e malls where people go to spend money)

I was in a local shop and I asked about if I could use the wifi for a quick check of the weather. The manager said it was OK, yet the service told me that I could get the first hour free, but had to pay thereafter. I declined. Very often freedom is more important than profit.

I got my phone free, a choice between 3 gigs @ $49 or 5 gigs @ $54 through an arrangement between the provider and a company I'm associated with. My landline used to cost me $49/mnth so I don't think it affected my budget much. I  find it much more convenient to have my cell phone as my home phone plus I also get to take the internet with me.

I do not use most of the apps. I don't play video games or record stuff. Pretty basic usage.
