We live in a rigourously car-centric society. Our cities are formed around it. Our bodies are shaped for it. And most of us are devotees to the cult of the car. Besides the TV and Internet, the car is the single most influential piece of technology on our lives as a whole. It defines our notions of space, time, class, and even personal identity.
