Time slips

A "time slip" is when people temporarily find themselves surrounded by buildings and cars and people and signs of a previous historical era. Then just as suddenly as that happened they wind up back in their present day surroundings. Here's a case of a time slip that occurred to two people in Liverpool England in 1996:

One night many years ago I was walking out of a convenience store in my hometown and there was this shiny mint-condition yellow car from the 50's like a 57 Chevy, There was this teenager beside it and as I walked by he asked me for a jump. Nowadays you usually see old men driving cars like this. Anyway, I obliged him and he went on his way into the night. But he was really well dressed with blond slicked back hair and a jacket and was really polite. I look back now on that event and wonder if he was a time traveler that had slipped into our time!

That’s about as casual as casual sex can get. I wonder if the kid driving the Chevy slipped ahead in time and ended up having sex with a future relative or she with a past relative? Or perhaps this is how the teenage girl’s brain deals with an incestuous relationship with dad (he always talked about his 57 Chevy).

Sure not always same situation but I wouldn’t doubt if some people do revert to the past to recover from some mental trauma they’re experiencing.

I remember a foggy morning when I went fishing. I cautiously took the boat across the lake to a large island opposite from where I was staying(about 1km). I recall that once I got there I was, from what I could see, situated in a large expanse of reeds. At one point a large waterfowl came up from below, right beside the boat, causing it to panic and get the hell away from me with much commotion. Looking about as the fog lifted, I saw small older cottages, one had laundry hanging from an outdoor clothesline. No people around and I remember thinking about where I was, considering I’d never seen these cottages before nor had I seen the reeds at any time. Moved away from the reeds back towards where I’d come from. When fog lifted I looked back towards cottages and they were gone, as well as reeds, I searched but never found them again. Only cottages were of the modern variety.

I figured I might have been still sleeping somehow and my brain hadn’t switched on completely. Imagined the whole thing as if in a dream. Not sure if somnambulism can go that far but who knows. There was a court case near here where I guy was acquitted of murder because he was sleep walking, somehow they convinced a judge and jury.

Is a 'jump' maybe like a pushing a car to get it started? The car, just the car.

LOL A jump is hooking up electrical cables to the batteries of two cars in order to start one of them.
