Not really. Being gay, just like being heterosexual, assumes the same right to pursuit of happiness that they have. Just like being anything else. A gymnast or an artist or a racecar driver. Imagine identifying as one of these but never participating in the activities defining them. Being gay likewise assumes the ability to live it out--to have gay relationships, to have gay sex, to frequent gay establishments if you want to, to get married to/live with a gay soulmate and to have a family if you want to.
The Catholic Church otoh only lets you "be" gay and in the closet about it. To have the inclinations, but to repress them and live your life instead as a self-hating and chaste servant of Christ. It is homophobia and heteronormalcy in the fake guise of moral acceptance and tolerance. It is a poisonous and toxic lifestyle that results in social isolation, shame, depression, and possibly even suicide.
But hey, that's the Catholic way ain't it?
