By substantially increasing the mass and volume of its reusable transportation system without raising costs, SpaceX may enable NASA to implement future missions years ahead of schedule.

INTRO: Researchers used data from the Dark Energy Survey and the South Pole Telescope to re-calculate the total amount and distribution of matter in the universe. They found that there’s about six times as much dark matter in the universe as there is regular matter, a finding consistent with previous measurements.
But the team also found that the matter was less clumped together than previously thought, a finding detailed in a set of three papers, all published this week in Physical Review D... (MORE - details)
3 new studies indicate a conflict at the heart of cosmology

KEY POINTS: Telescopes are essentially time machines. As we examine galaxies that are at greater and greater distances from the Earth, we are looking further and further back in time. A new series of studies that examine the "clumpiness" of the Universe indicates that there might be a conflict at the heart of cosmology. The Big Bang theory is still sound, but it may need to be tweaked... (MORE - details)
