Just before 2 pm this afternoon this little guy flew right over our backyard.

Been awhile since I’ve seen a plane with 4 jet engines around these parts. COVID has definitely restricted air travel. In Niagara we are used to seeing passenger planes diverting to view Niagara Falls. This plane was US Airforce and according to local news was on a training run, flew around the cataract five times and returned to Niagara Falls NY Airforce Base.

Not here.  We live near Miramar air base, and we get everything from C17's to C130's to V-22's flying over regularly.

We have Toronto International 50 miles north, Buffalo Int 20 miles south. Throw in Niagara Falls NY Airbase 15 miles east and Hamilton Ont Airport 40 miles west and we’re surrounded. However we only seem to see planes either circling around one of those airports or the passenger jets having a look at the Falls. Have seen the big Hercules fly over several times though.

Canada and USA must have some kind of agreement where they share air space. Nobody here that I know of complains about US military planes flying over our soil. Been on cross country flights where the plane I’m on diverts over US airspace to avoid bad weather.
