I don't know what this could be. The comments suggested Mt. Fuji undergoing some bizarre atmospheric optical distortion. Perhaps some kind of fata morgana..

Speaking of Fuji, Osorno is a remarkable lookalike in Chile, but is shorter in height. (EDIT: Fuji literally twice as tall if going by prominence.)
