RELEASE: A surprised witness in Russia captured video of an unusual spectacle -- three people floating down a river on a chunk of ice. The video, filmed Wednesday in Novokuznetsk, shows the three people standing on one of several pieces of ice floating down the river.

The three people appear calm and do not seem to consider themselves to be in danger. The people wave to the filmer as he shouts his surprise at the sight.

Like to see them try that on the upper Niagara River knowing there's a 300 foot drop waiting for you if you get to the brink. No ice on river this year but plenty in years past. More than likely you'd be arrested if not drown. We have a guy around here who calls himself the Surfing Santa and he sailboards across the river for charity in full regalia as Xmas approached. Don't think he ever made it without help or getting rescued. He always ended sopping wet. Authorities arrested him at least once but moved him to a spot along the Lake Erie shoreline across from Buffalo where he's allowed....before the Peace Bridge where the River (actually a Strait) begins and a lot calmer.
