"The Outpost" renewed for a 3rd season (sports/athletic actress Jessica Green) - C C - Oct 14, 2019

At least according to this source. Green supposedly twittered about its renewal, too.

Funny how there are people celebrating this "silly", underdog, easygoing heroic fantasy show coming back a third time after it was trashed by so many at the beginning because it looked low-budget and sub-mediocre. It may have had slightly lower ratings on the CW than last year, but elsewhere around the world it's apparently doing well. (Maybe the network has rights to carry it on CW Seed after its run, but that seems unlikely since SyFy International is currently distributing it.)

Effects and props wise, it looked like the production received a bigger budget in the second season (plus three more episodes). It was originally filmed in Utah, which seems strange from the standpoint that many of the actors hail from Down Under and the UK (Jake Stormoen, who plays Garret with an Anglo accent, is American, however). Due to that, one might have expected it to be shot in New Zealand like Amazon Prime's upcoming prequel series to "Lord of the Rings" (and the Hobbit movies). Perhaps NZ has accordingly gotten a lot more expensive in terms of crews and permits since "Zena: The Warrior Princess" days. But also, "The Outpost" is more of a medieval setting rather than Middle Earth or ancient Greece, and King Kong locations from Skull Island to 1930s New York City. (NOTE: I see now that they moved to Serbia for the second season of The Outpost.)
