Every Mutt Must Get Stoned - Zinjanthropos - Sep 15, 2019 Apologies to Bob Dylan: Well they stone ya when you eat a table scrap, They stone ya when you stop to take a crap They stone ya when you’re humpin’ someone’s leg They stone ya when you're sittin’ up to beg Well I would not feel so damn upset Except this mutt’s heading to the vet. https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2019/09/14/evidence-suggests-jump-in-number-of-stoned-dogs-being-taken-to-vets.html RE: Every Mutt Must Get Stoned - C C - Sep 15, 2019 LOL. There's something odd about pet owners, medical staff, and the public acknowledging and being concerned about detrimental effects upon the dogs/animals... rushing them to treatment and all that. But in parallel no longer caring (or lackadaisical) about the impacts on humans after legalization or relaxation of penalty. Doubtless there are also small children breathing it in from the home environment just as they did tobacco smoke back in the old days, as well as getting an earlier jump on mimicking their parents/guardians via experimenting themselves before even tween years. Of course, such transpired (in lesser quantity?) for decades before this when it was taboo (including pregnant mothers ritualistically inhaling it as part of private domestic activity). But now there's no restraining conscience at all frowning down imaginatively in the background. No inner voice, picked-up from some tediously lecturing moral watchdog in the past, whispering in the mind... To be ignored or reflexively direct disdain at, like swatting away an annoying gnat. RE: Every Mutt Must Get Stoned - Zinjanthropos - Sep 15, 2019 Spent 5 years of my early childhood living in an army base. I remember a lot of alcohol was consumed by my father and his army buds. I somewhat recall an episode where they tried to get a dog drunk. When I asked about years later my dad said that they succeeded, however the dog would not go near booze after that. Poor mutt probably suffered a huge hangover and never forgot. Today those guys would probably get court-martialed and dishonourably discharged. So I’m also reminded of a 50’s TV show that featured a sloshed dog. I’ve only seen reruns of Topper but I thought it uproariously funny with the running gag. Don’t think we’ll see anything close to that anymore...where have the tv animal shows gone? Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Mr. Ed, Littlest Hobo all relegated to the dust bin. Think we’ll ever see a show that includes a dog that eats pot laced pastries and such? Must be more trouble than they’re worth. https://americacomesalive.com/2018/07/30/st-bernard-in-tv-show-topper/ |
