Life Hacks - Leigha - Sep 2, 2019 I have a silver ring that once belonged to my great grandmother, and it has sat in my jewelry box for a while. It was quite tarnished, like part of the ring was shiny, and part of it appeared dull. I had tried jewelry cleaner, didn't work...and soap/warm water with a small toothbrush, to see if that would bring it back to its original state, but nope, also didn't work. I then ran across an article that toothpaste (not gel, but the grittier paste kind) can bring tarnished metals back to life. Well, I tried it and it worked. (using a small toothbrush and scrubbing the ring for about 3 to 5 minutes, then rinsing with warm water) So happy, my great grandmother's ring looks brand new. ![]() Share some of your own life hacks and home remedies here. |
