Elon Says Report Coming on Starship/Starhopper Plans - Yazata - May 12, 2019

Elon Musk has promised to make a presentation on his Starship plans this summer. Tim the Everyday Astronaut asked him if that's still on, and Elon said "probably June 20".

Speculation is pointing to that being a reference to the 2019 AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) Conference in Dallas on June 17-21.

People are guessing that Elon's gonna want some cool video to show in his presentation (which will be packed standing-room-only), so speculation is that the watertower (the first Starhopper) will be getting its Raptor engine in the next few weeks (SN-03 currently at McGregor?) and will hopefully make at least one untethered flight before June 20 (lots of preparations to the control system etc. seem to currently be underway).

that alcohol detected in the iss is interesting
mystery to solve
i wonder if there was some type of alcohol hand cleaner on the fabric of the manikin astronaut clothes, maybe an alcohol wash of the clothes ?
could it be something as benign as someone using isopropyl alcohol to clean the manikins helmet or such like ?
maybe someone forgot to sterilize some of the fabric / gloves(did the manikin have gloves?)and or had to change something last minute
was there a plastic sheet sign with logo on that had been wiped down with alcohol maybe ?

If there was a lackluster response to Jeff Bezos's blue-balls and utopian future presentation, then an extra exertion of showmanship on Musk's part might be the last thing the former needs. Probably faded memories in the public consciousness by then, though.

While I realize it's not ethyl alcohol, I still feel a faint urge to force something wry about Russia complaining of there being any kind on board. Given the Mir space station days that featured cognac in the cosmonaut rations. But the difference with isopropyl is just too vast to even get misbegotten irony off the ground.

Astroannimal and Little Earth.

Or like CC says, the Russians.

Actually, I'd guess that lots of biological equipment sent up to the Space Station comes in some kind of antiseptic packaging that might involve alcohol somehow.

Or some kind of cleaning solvent that contains alcohol.

It might be hard to track down since it could be so many things.
